Today, Saturday, July 26, is the day of the “47th Ashiya Summer Carnival”! We’ll be sharing a quick look at what it’s like around the venue and inside the venue right now!

Outside the Venue
↑Traffic restrictions already seemed to be in place at the intersection in front of the General Park.
Inside the Venue: Civic Plaza
↑At the Civic Plaza, which opened at 13:00, there are lots of food stalls and a citizen stage set up.
↑There are food stalls selling shaved ice, crispy cheese sticks, and more, plus stalls with festival goods to liven up the mood.
↑Yakisoba, fried chicken, candy apples, hashimaki, fries, shooting games, and more…
↑Frankfurters, castella sponge cake, chocolate-covered frozen bananas, too. Since it’s still daytime, the venue has a relaxed feel for now, but the crowds will probably keep growing from here.
↑People are also starting to gather in front of the citizen stage.
Inside the Venue: Shio-Ashiya Beach
↑We’ve arrived at the sandy beach area of Shio-Ashiya Beach.
↑It’s very sunny and still quite hot, but people are gradually starting to gather.
↑People are taking measures against the heat, like using parasols, while starting to claim spots on the beach.
↑Everyone is playing by the water’s edge and waiting for the sun to go down.
↑Around sunset. The crowd has grown quite a bit.
↑As the fireworks time gets closer, more and more people keep arriving.
↑It’s completely dark now, and all that’s left is to wait for the fireworks!
Inside the Venue: East Area Food Stall Zone
↑A look at the East Area food stall zone. It’s getting pretty crowded.
↑You can really notice people wearing yukata. It looks like everyone is enjoying festival food before the fireworks launch.
↑The sun has gone down quite a bit, and the excitement is building as launch time approaches!
↑After sunset, the stall lights came on.
↑It’s starting to feel like a real festival night!
