Kaburaya is a restaurant specializing in handmade, stone-milled 100% buckwheat soba that has been loved for 25 years since it opened. The restaurant reportedly earned a Michelin star for six consecutive years. The reason for the closure is said to be the owner’s advancing age, and they are currently looking for someone to take over the premises and continue operating it as a soba restaurant after the closure.

What’s Around Kaburaya

↑ It is located on the first floor of the building on the southeast corner of the intersection of the Naruo-Mikage Line and Miyagawa Jizo-dori. The same building also houses the Chinese restaurant “Shisen Tomon”, “Arita Seikotsuin,” and other businesses.

↑ Head this way (east) toward Hanshin Uchide Station, and you’ll find “Kozuchi Pharmacy,” “Ashiya Uchide Kozuchi Post Office,” and more.

↑ Head in the opposite direction (west), and you’ll soon come to a bridge crossing the Miyagawa River. On the other side are the liquor store “Yamaya,” the European-style restaurant “daBOARD,” the variety shop and gallery “ar+ks,” and more, in the direction of Miyazukacho.
Kaburaya’s Menu

↑ Their specialties appear to be stone-milled, handmade 100% buckwheat soba and kamo seiro made with domestically raised Kyoto duck. You can find lots of photos of their dishes on Instagram!
