ASHIYA Cafe supported by NESCAFE, located on the 1st floor of Ashiya City Hall’s main building just south of Hanshin Ashiya Station, had reopened for business as of May 22!
(↓ It had been closed since around January this year because the operating company was no longer able to continue running it.)

↑ A notice about the reopening was posted. It is currently in its pre-opening period, with the grand opening set for Wednesday, June 21.
After reopening, operations are being handled by “就労支援B型作業所 ヤドリギワークス” (Yadorigi Works, a Type B employment support workshop). Starting in June, they plan to “recruit a variety of people with disabilities living in Ashiya City and work together with them.”

↑ These are the five drink options available during the pre-opening period. During pre-opening, everything is served for 300 yen, tax included. It looks like food items such as mitarashi dango and baked sweets will also be added in the future.

Final Thoughts
It’s good to see that a new operator was successfully chosen and that the cafe was able to reopen. Hopefully it will continue in an even better form as both a place for local residents to relax and a workplace for people with disabilities.
