The Ashiya City Museum of Art & History and the Ashiya City Tanizaki Junichiro Memorial Museum in Ise-cho, which had been closed for renovation work, reopened on April 15.

↑ To commemorate the reopening, the special exhibition “Ashiya Art, Another Starting Point: Tsuguro Ito” is being held until Sunday, July 2.
In addition to around 60 works by Tsuguro Ito, a painter who continued creating art in Ashiya, the exhibition also features works by 20 diverse artists with whom Ito interacted.

↑ To commemorate the reopening, the special exhibition “A Literary Master Reborn: Tanizaki, the Hanshinkan Area, and a Century’s First Step” is being held.
The exhibition celebrates the “rebirth” of the newly reopened Ashiya City Tanizaki Junichiro Memorial Museum by showing how Tokyo-born Junichiro Tanizaki moved to the Hanshinkan area and blossomed into a great literary master.
↑ Workshops and lecture events also seem to be taking place, including making original T-shirts and “Reading Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.”
↑ The on-site café, Café de Repos（カフェ・ド・ルポ）, is also open!
↑ They serve light meals, sweets, drinks, and more. There’s terrace seating too.
