We received some an-doughnuts from “Uncle Andy” at “An-Doughnut Specialty Shop AN●D Andy”, which opened on March 9 in Omasu-cho along Ashiya Hondori!
The “An-Doughnuts” from “An-Doughnut Specialty Shop AN●D Andy”
“An-Doughnuts, Box of 5” 960 yen (tax included)
For the first two days after opening (until 3/10), they’re available at a special opening price of 900 yen (tax included).
The set includes five flavors: “koshian” (smooth red bean paste), “tsubuan” (chunky red bean paste), “milk an,” “matcha an,” and “sakura an” (seasonal limited edition)!
These carefully made an-doughnuts use beet sugar from Hokkaido in the bean paste, brown sugar from Hateruma, Okinawa in the doughnut dough, and mildly sweet trehalose on the surface instead of regular sugar!
At first glance, they all look like the same round doughnuts, but…
Once you cut them open, the cross-sections are colorful and gorgeous!
The “koshian” has a clean, elegant sweetness, and you can really taste the brown sugar flavor in the doughnut dough. I think it’s an easy-to-enjoy an-doughnut even for people who aren’t big fans of azuki bean paste!
The “tsubuan” has a stronger azuki bean flavor than the smooth koshian, so it’s recommended for true anko lovers!
The “milk an” is made by mixing fresh cream and condensed milk into white bean paste, giving it a rich milky flavor! This is my (Fuko’s) favorite flavor♪
The “matcha an” is a grown-up flavor where you can really enjoy the aroma and bitterness of matcha!
The seasonal limited-edition “sakura an” has a flavor reminiscent of sakura mochi, giving it a spring-like Japanese taste!
↑ If you buy a box of 5 or 10, it comes with an original paper bag! The checkered pattern is so cute!
