A new “public facility” is apparently going to be created on the 3rd floor of the new station building planned in front of the south exit of JR Ashiya Station〜

The new “public facility” will integrate and reorganize the “Library Ohara Branch” and the “Civic Activity Center (Lead Ashiya)”, updating their functions to meet today’s needs. It aims to become a new hub for community development, with functions supporting civic activities, library services, and multi-generational and multicultural exchange.
As for what kind of facility it will specifically become, that will be discussed at the citizens’ study group “Ashiya Eki Lab”〜

“Ashiya Eki Lab” will be held five times in total and is free to join. The participant group, called “lab members,” is expected to have a capacity of around 20 people.
- Residents who have “something they’d like to try”
◉People who live, work, or study in the city
◉People who have something they’d like to try at the public facility or around town - Representatives of activity groups, community development groups, and similar organizations
◉Members of city-based activity groups who want to think about new directions or breakthroughs for organizations that have fallen into a rut
Applications are being accepted until Sunday, May 17〜
