Cherry Blossoms in Kawanishicho: Naruo Mikage Line & Sakura Street
↑Cherry blossoms near the western edge of the city along the Naruo Mikage Line. Around here, it looks fair to say they’re almost in full bloom〜
↑You can enjoy the blossoms while out for a walk or doing some shopping〜
↑Cherry blossoms on Sakura Street near Ashiya City Gymnasium. They’re not quite in full bloom yet, but they’re starting to look at their best〜
↑Cherry blossoms on the north side of Kawanishi Sports Ground along the Naruo Mikage Line. This area still feels a little sparse〜the best viewing might be just a bit further off
Cherry Blossoms on Chaya Sakura Street in Chayanomachi
↑Cherry blossoms on the south side of Chaya Sakura Street. They’re gradually starting to bloom.
↑Even on the same Chaya Sakura Street, if you head toward the north side, they’re blooming so much you’d call this full bloom!
↑Tomorrow, Sunday, April 6, Chaya Sakura Street will be closed to vehicle traffic and turned into a picnic area with artificial turf laid out! It sounds like there will be lots of food stalls too〜
↑It’ll be exciting to enjoy a hanami picnic under the cherry blossoms in full bloom tomorrow♪ Now we just have to hope the weather clears up…!
Cherry Blossoms Along the Ashiya River & Narihira Sakura Street
↑This is what it looked like on the south side of Hankyu Ashiyagawa Station along the Ashiya River. Since it was Saturday, there were lots of people out enjoying hanami〜
↑It didn’t quite feel like full bloom yet, but it’s definitely enough to enjoy cherry blossom viewing〜

↑Tomorrow, April 6, is the day of the “Ashiya Sakura Festival”! Preparations were already getting underway the day before〜
↑Hanami chairs and tables are all ready to go! The rain and wind, especially in the morning, are a bit of a concern tomorrow, but the forecast says it should stop in the afternoon, so here’s hoping…!
