This is an upgraded version of the pedestrian paradise trial held on Chaya Sakura Street last March! This year, artificial grass will be laid out under the cherry trees, creating a one-day-only cherry blossom picnic area!
- During the event, the area from National Route 2 to around Atelier Chloe Ashiya will become a pedestrian paradise
- The pedestrian zone will be covered with artificial grass, turning it into a grass-covered street
- Six “Kids Dream Stalls”, where local adults help bring food stall ideas created by children to life, will appear!
- Food, drink, and fun booths from local shops will appear!
A variety of shops from around Ashiya are scheduled to take part, including soba restaurants, rice ball shops, eel restaurants, yakiniku restaurants, Italian restaurants, patisseries, and bars - You can also enjoy music at the “Sakura Stage” with live band performances!
- The “Kotoba no Hanabira Project”, where people write their hopes for the future of the town and display them, will also be held

Finally
Last year, unfortunately, the cherry blossoms bloomed late, so it wasn’t quite a full-bloom event… but hopefully this year everyone can enjoy hanami surrounded by lots of cherry blossoms! It’s being held on the same day as the “Ashiya Sakura Festival”, so it could be fun to visit both events in one outing!
