Near JR Ashiya Station, the grocery store “ほのかの果実 JR芦屋店” on the 1st floor of La Mall Ashiya is apparently planning to reopen in December as “ほのかマルシェ”!
(Thanks to Kenzo for the tip!)

↑A sign announcing the renewal as “ほのかマルシェ.” In addition to the vegetables and fruit that had been their main items up to now, it looks like they’ll also be selling Kyushu-raised Japanese Black wagyu beef, Korean food for takeout, and resold Costco products!

↑The exterior of “ほのかマルシェ,” currently temporarily closed for renovation work
Here’s the map↓
The address is 2-6 Oharacho, Ashiya City, Hyogo Prefecture, La Mall Ashiya Room 124.
What’s Around “ほのかマルシェ”

↑A street-level shop on the 1st floor of “La Mall Ashiya” along the station-front street. To the left is the bakery and cafe “Rios ラモール店,” and to the right is “三甲画材.”

↑If you head this way west, you’ll find places like “炭焼き&ワイン いわい” and “Organic Plaza La Mall Ashiya”. Keep going and you’ll reach the area in front of JR Ashiya Station, where Mont et Mer and Laporte are located.

↑If you head the opposite way east, there’s Kamimiyagawa Bridge crossing the Miyagawa River. Continue farther and you’ll find places like the cake shop “親王館” (scheduled to close on 12/25) and the patisserie “DESTINATION”.

↑Across the street are “ナナ・ホワイトニングサロン芦屋” and the south entrance to “Oharakoen Park,” among other spots.
Final Thoughts
The Japanese Black wagyu beef and Korean food sound tempting, but Ashiya hasn’t had a Costco resale shop before, right? It might be nice to be able to try Costco products in small amounts nearby without having to go all the way to a distant Costco and buy in bulk! I’m looking forward to the renewal!
Kenzo, thank you for the information!!
