We went to check out the food stalls at the Civic Plaza for the “Ashiya Summer Carnival,” which is being held today, Saturday, July 22!
↑ Tents lined up across the grassy plaza! There are lots of festival-style food stalls.
↑ Festival favorites like candied apples, karaage fried chicken, yakisoba, baby castella, tamago senbei…
↑ They also had grilled squid skewers and frankfurters! Other options included meat-wrapped rice balls, chilled pineapple, fries, shaved ice, cotton candy, chocolate-covered bananas, and more!

For safety management reasons, this year’s Ashiya Summer Carnival has a reservation-only entry system with limited capacity, and only people with either a “Sponsored Viewing Seat Ticket” or a “Civic Plaza Admission Ticket” can enter. Please note that you cannot get in without a ticket!
