It looks like the supermarket “Life” may be coming to Kurekawa-cho, along Hanamizuki-dori.

↑ A construction planning sign has been posted, listing the intended use as a “retail store” and the builder as Life Corporation Co., Ltd., the company behind the “Life” supermarket chain. This really looks like a Life is on the way!
↑ The planned construction site looks like this, and it’s an incredibly large plot of land! It used to be the site of a Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance dormitory and tennis courts.

↑ It’s located along Hanamizuki-dori, right in front of the Hankyu Bus “Kurekawa-cho (Health and Welfare Center)” bus stop.
↑ If you head this way, north, you’ll find places like “Seven-Eleven Ashiya Kurekawa-cho,” Kurekawa Park, and the yakiniku restaurant “Karubi Land Ashiya Kurekawa.”

Final Thoughts
The planned construction period is from this August through July 31 of next year, so the opening still seems to be quite a ways off. With “Life” also scheduled to open near Hanshin Ashiya Station, and a supermarket planned inside a new mixed-use commercial facility in the Minami-Ashiyahama area, competition among seaside-area supermarkets, apart from the high-end hot spots up in the Yamate area, looks like it may heat up even more going forward!
