We bought the premium bread from “panya 芦屋,” a specialty shokupan bread shop on the north side of JR Ashiya Station!
“panya 芦屋” “PREMIUM”

“PREMIUM” 810 yen (tax included)

It’s sold in a 1.5-loaf size. Apparently, it’s known for its dense, chewy texture.

On the day we bought it, we enjoyed it as-is to savor that chewy texture♪ The aroma of butter and a gentle sweetness spread through your mouth.

From the next day on, toast it! Since the bread is very moist, even if you toast the surface until crisp, the inside still keeps plenty of moisture and is easy to eat.

It has a simple flavor, so it goes great with jam too! We tried topping it with homemade strawberry confiture.
“panya 芦屋” Menu

They offer two types of basic shokupan: “PREMIUM” and “SELECT.”

They also sell limited-day and limited-quantity loaves such as “An-shoku” (sweet red bean bread), “Raisin,” and “Chocolate.”

They also have original jams and rusks, so they would make nice souvenirs!
