Tanabata bamboo decorations and a “Chinowa” ring have been set up at Uchide Tenjinsha Shrine near Hanshin Uchide Station.
This is the “Chinowa” ring. Passing through it is said to let you pray for good health, protection from misfortune, and safety for your household.
Apparently, it usually starts from the Oharae purification ceremony on June 30, but this year it was prepared earlier to help spread out visits as an infection-prevention measure!
There’s also a sign showing how to pass through the Chinowa ring. You go through while reciting a waka poem.
The Tanabata decorations are displayed on both sides of the main shrine building!
The bamboo branch on the right as you face the shrine had lots of wish strips attached to it.
The wish strips are placed on the right after going up the front steps of the main shrine building, and anyone can write a wish and hang one up.
It seems each color of wish strip has its own meaning! What kind of wish should I write…?
At the shrine office, they also have omikuji fortunes such as the “Uchide no Kozuchi Mikuji”.
Now then, what’s my fortune…?
It was “Kichi”, good luck! Watch out for pitfalls…! I’ll be careful!
