We picked up some signature cakes to go from “Motomachi Cake Ashiya”, located north of Hanshin Uchide Station!
“Zakuro” and “Rum Cake” from “Motomachi Cake Ashiya”

Left: “Zakuro” 295 yen (tax included)
Right: “Rum Cake” 330 yen (tax included)

When you think of Motomachi Cake, this is the one: their famous “Zakuro.” It has such a simple, charming look, doesn’t it?

The fluffy sponge cake is made with plenty of egg yolk and filled with lots of sweet whipped cream♪
That single strawberry on top: do you eat it first or save it for last? Eating it somewhere in the middle might work too.

This is another Motomachi Cake classic: the Rum Cake!

The aroma of rum soaked deep into the sponge is enough to make you feel a little dizzy…!
This is definitely a grown-up cake! Kids, hands off!

The buttercream, sponge, and rum come together and melt in your mouth.
It keeps for about a week, so the flavor might change nicely if you let it rest in the fridge for a while before eating it.
