The hydrangeas planted in Shimizu Park in Shimizu-cho, which stretches north-south from National Route 2 to just before the JR line, were right at their best.

They’re in full bloom! So many round, ball-like flowers are lined up beautifully.

The gradation of reddish purple and bluish purple is so pretty.

This is a great spot for taking really photogenic pictures! You’ll want to take plenty before the flowers are gone.

The hydrangeas are blooming on the north side of the park, around the area with the hand pump.
Lotus Flowers Are Blooming Too

The lotus flowers in the park’s “Biotope Pond” were blooming too!

I went a little after 2 p.m., so they were somewhat closed. They’re probably even prettier in the morning.

Even so, some of the flowers were still beautifully open! Lotus flowers somehow make you feel a little grateful, don’t they?
Lotus flowers are said to be at their best around July, so it looks like you’ll be able to enjoy these for a little while longer.
