Just outside the ticket gates at JR Ashiya Station, the focaccia pizza specialty shop “PIZZA PORT” has opened for a limited time next to the temporary “Awajiya” bento shop. It’s scheduled to run until Friday, June 25.

The address is 1-30 Funadocho, Ashiya City, Hyogo Prefecture.
The main shop is in Kawanishi City, and they’ve apparently been operating here since June 7.
They sell “focaccia pizza” for takeout, made with dough that has potatoes mixed into it.
The price is 680 yen per pizza, or 1,980 yen for a set of three, tax included.
It looks like you can buy several at once and store them in the freezer too.
They recommend heating it in a toaster oven before eating. You can also warm it up in a regular oven, fish grill, or microwave.
We tried the “Cheese Dakgalbi” focaccia pizza

A Korean-style pizza with plenty of chicken and a spicy dakgalbi sauce!
The focaccia dough is nice and thick, with a fluffy, chewy texture. It goes perfectly with the spicy sauce!

Final thoughts
This spot in front of the ticket gates is currently under renovation inside the station, so the “Awajiya” bento shop is also operating as a temporary store.
A Japanese sweets shop had set up here before, and it’ll be fun to see what other shops appear while the construction continues.
