Eco-Friendly Flea Market
Held twice a year through a partnership between Ashiya City and the Ashiya City Society of Commerce and Industry, this flea market aims to raise awareness about reducing waste and conserving resources.
When is it?
Sunday, November 1, 2026, 10:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.

Where is it?
Ashiya Takasho Deck (La Porte Plaza / north side of JR Ashiya Station)
This pedestrian deck is located on the north side of JR Ashiya Station. After exiting the ticket gates, head north toward the plaza connecting the La Porte Main Building and North Building. It’s directly connected to the station, so it’s super easy to get there by train!

- Flea market A wide variety of pre-owned items will be on sale ♻️
- Mix-and-match outfit popularity contest Vote for your favorite mix-and-match look from snapshots of Mayor Takashima. The results are expected to be announced at a later date 👕
- Carbon-neutral bingo A bingo game that encourages participants to reflect on environmentally friendly actions. Sessions start at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and last about 30 minutes each. There may even be a gift for participants! 🎯
The outfit popularity contest and bingo game will be run in one corner of the flea market by students from Mukogawa Women’s University (Ashiya City Carbon Neutrality Promotion Supporters).

Since it’s being held at La Porte Plaza, just north of the station, it’ll be easy to drop by while you’re out shopping. And a popularity contest for the mayor’s mix-and-match outfits is definitely not something you hear about every day—we’re really curious to see which look comes out on top!
