It appears that Ashiya City’s disaster prevention information distribution system was hit by unauthorized access, causing some services to be suspended.
The city announced the incident on October 14, 2026.

Here’s a summary of the announcement:
- The city says no residents’ personal information, such as names, addresses, or phone numbers, was leaked.
- However, information belonging to approximately 600 city employees—including names, departments, and emergency contact email addresses—may have been exposed.
- No actual data leak has been confirmed at this time, but employees have been warned to watch out for possible scam emails.
The following two services are currently unavailable:
- The automated telephone service that lets callers replay disaster prevention radio broadcasts 📞
- The Disaster Prevention Radio Broadcasts section of the Ashiya Disaster Prevention Portal, where broadcasts can be checked in text and audio formats
There is currently no estimated restoration date. All other disaster prevention information services are reportedly operating as usual.
For inquiries, contact the Disaster Prevention Measures Section, Disaster Prevention and Safety Division, Urban Infrastructure Office, Urban Policy Department, Ashiya City (0797-38-2093).
More information about the system failure and unauthorized access also appears to be available on the service provider’s SpeeCAN RAIDEN website.
In Closing
The disaster prevention information itself is still available, but not being able to replay the broadcasts may be a little inconvenient. We’ll let you know if there are any further updates.
