Ashiya City: Reduction of Basic Water and Sewerage Fees
A reduction of basic water and sewerage fees will be implemented using the Priority Support Local Revitalization Temporary Grant in Response to Rising Prices.
When will it happen?
For the four months from June to September 2026
- Even-numbered month meter-reading areas ⇒ June and August 2026 meter readings
- Odd-numbered month meter-reading areas ⇒ July and September 2026 meter readings
will be eligible for the reduction.
*Bills are issued in the month following the meter-reading month.
Who is eligible?
All water supply contract holders who have a direct contract with Ashiya City (excluding government offices)
*If you pay your water and sewerage fees to a property owner, management company, or similar party, please contact your payment recipient directly.

Apparently, most regular households have a meter diameter of either 13mm or 20mm.
Only the basic fee will be waived; metered usage charges (fees added based on the amount used) are not covered by the waiver.
(In other words, if you think, “It’s free, so let’s use as much as we want〜♪,” you might still end up with a pretty hefty bill. Don’t waste water〜)
