JR Ashiya Station and the shopping mall “Mont et Mer” have jointly started accepting entries for their “Senryu Contest” from September 1.

When is it?
Entry period: September 1 (Mon)–15 (Mon/national holiday), 2025
Grand Prix voting period: October 11 (Sat), 2025, 10:00–13:00
Where is it?
Entry forms and submission boxes are set up near the ticket gates at JR Ashiya Station and next to Mon Loire on the 3rd floor of Mont et Mer.
The final Grand Prix vote will be held at Ashinova, the multipurpose hall on the 3rd floor of Mont et Mer.

What will happen?
↑ Senryu Contest entry form
- Write a senryu in the 5-7-5 rhythm based on the theme “Me and the Railway” on the entry form, then place it in the submission box
- Submitted works will be displayed at the “Railway Festival” event venue on October 11 (Sat)
- The Grand Prix will be decided by votes from event visitors
- The Grand Prix winner will receive 3,000 yen worth of Visa gift certificates, the Mont et Mer Manager’s Award winner will receive sweets from Mont et Mer specialty shops, and the Ashiya Stationmaster’s Award winner will receive JR original goods
