We picked up some adorable fat macarons, known as “tungcaron” (extra-thick macarons filled with lots of cream), from the cake shop and cafe “Licorne Ashiya Main Store” along Ekimae-dori Street near JR Ashiya Station!
Licorne’s “Salted Caramel” and “Chocolate” Tungcaron

Left: “Carnation Tungcaron Salted Caramel” 432 yen (tax included) *Limited time only!
Right: “Bear Tungcaron Chocolate” 410 yen (tax included)

First of all, the biggest thing is how cute they look! It’s a little bear!

And this one is… um…?
…a carnation! Apparently it’s shaped like a carnation!
It’s a little loose-looking, but still cute! It feels like something that might show up in Chibi Maruko-chan!

Since these are tungcaron, they have much more cream sandwiched inside than regular macarons♪
The carnation has salted caramel cream, while the bear has chocolate cream, and both are rich and flavorful!
The macaron shells are quite crisp and crunchy!
Menu at “Licorne Ashiya Main Store”

They sell all kinds of cute, trendy sweets, including a wide variety of tungcaron and maritozzo available only on Fridays and Saturdays!

The display case was filled with various macarons, cakes, and drinks.
