The Jizo statue at the back of the rotary between “Alpa Ashiya” and “La Rive Ashiya” along Ekimae-dori near JR Ashiya Station will apparently be moved to a nearby spot due to construction starting Wednesday, February 5〜
↑A notice titled “Notice of Jizo Relocation Work” was posted next to the Jizo statue.
The relocation work is scheduled for Wednesday, February 5 to Friday, March 21. After the relocation is complete, it will stay there until around 2028, three years from now, and then it is planned to be returned to its original location.

At one point, there was a notice saying it might be “Jizo-jimai” (the closing/removal of the Jizo), but it has been decided that the “Ashiyagawa College Alumni Association” will manage it, so it will be temporarily relocated and then returned to its original spot after construction.
↑The relocation site looks like it will be right nearby, along the east wall of La Rive Ashiya. It seems to be around next to the sign for “Sumibi Yakitori Masaya.” Probably about a 10-second walk. Glad it’s close〜
↑It will be temporarily relocated because of the removal work for the nearby pedestrian bridge over the railway tracks, “Daiichi Kosenkyo.” That removal work has also been gradually progressing, and the slope on the south side had already been removed.
