The city emblem on top of Ashiya City Hall North Building (Main Building) near Hanshin Ashiya Station was lit up in orange〜
↑When you see it in person, it’s so orange you’ll think, “Whoa, what happened!?”〜！
↑It’s not just the city emblem. There are orange lights around the entrance too. By the way, why orange?
↑And then we noticed there was a proper explanation posted! Apparently, orange is “the symbol color for dementia support in Japan.”
↑September 21 is “Dementia Day (World Alzheimer’s Day)”, and September is “Dementia Month,” so the building is lit up to promote understanding and awareness of dementia. So that’s why〜

↑As a related event, pamphlets about dementia will be handed out and a survey will be conducted at the Seven-Eleven in front of the south exit of JR Ashiya Station from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 21. If you answer the survey, it looks like you can receive a cute Roba-taicho mascot or balloon art〜
（Roba-taicho is the mascot of the Dementia Supporter Caravan. Its meaning is said to come from moving forward steadily, one step at a time, without rushing, like a donkey）
↑This view of the orange city emblem shining alongside the moon can apparently be seen until Thursday, September 19. If you pass by City Hall or use Hanshin Ashiya Station, take a look toward the south side and you can enjoy a scene that’s a little different from usual〜！
And when you see this orange color, be sure to remember “Dementia Day” and let it be a chance to think about understanding and supporting people with dementia!
