We Went to the Laporte Festival by JR Ashiya Station Stalls and Crowds Everywhere Again This Year

Yesterday, August 25, we went again this year to the “Laporte Ennichi” held in front of JR Ashiya Station〜

Here’s what it looked like last year (2023)↓

We Went to the Laporte Ennichi Festival in Front of JR Ashiya Station Mayor Takashima Threw the First Pitch【Ashitsu Report】

Greeting from the Mayor of Ashiya & Main Game “Water Adventure”

↑At 11:00, when the event started, Mayor Takashima gave a greeting〜

↑After the opening remarks, he joined the children in enjoying a target-shooting game with water guns!

↑This year’s main game, “Water Adventure” (300 yen per play), had players clear the game by hitting the prepared monster (?) targets with water within the time limit〜

↑If you cleared the game, you got a reward: salt-grilled ayu sweetfish!

↑You could also buy just the salt-grilled ayu without playing the game, for 300 yen each.

↑By around 1:00 p.m., registration for the salt-grilled ayu had already ended. The game itself was then available to play for free〜

Overall Scene at Laporte Ennichi and the Food Stalls

↑On the south side of the East Building, there was a banner for “Laporte Wakuwaku Ennichi”〜

↑There were also lots of festival flags around the area, including on the second-floor pedestrian deck, giving it a real festival feel〜

↑Many stalls lined the space between Laporte East Building, the Main Building, and Hotel Takezono, an area that is usually used as a walkway.

↑With fried chicken, candy apples, and more, it really felt like a classic festival fair〜

↑Stalls were also lined up on the Yamate Kansen side〜

↑There were plenty of game stalls for kids too! This one was a coin-drop game.

↑The “bang!” sound from the shooting gallery really adds to the festival atmosphere, doesn’t it〜

↑The area in front of the butcher shop “Takezono” was also bustling with lots of families〜

↑Here’s how it looked from above. Such a lively atmosphere!

Food Booths from Restaurants in Laporte East Building and Main Building

↑Among the stalls, there were also event booths from restaurants that operate inside Laporte Main Building and East Building!

↑This is “Peking Duck” for 500 yen (tax included) from “Gofuku Hanten” on the basement 1st floor of the East Building!

↑When you ordered, they finished it off with plenty of rich special sauce〜

↑In addition to the skin and meat, it also had cucumber and green onion inside. Being able to enjoy Peking duck, that classic high-end Chinese dish, so casually is pretty amazing〜!

↑From the cream puff specialty shop “5/5 gobun no go Ashiya” on the 1st floor of the East Building, a festival-only item called “Takoyaki Choux” (6 pieces for 500 yen) was available! So unique〜

Limited-Time “Cinnabon” Sales on the 1st Floor of the East Building

↑In front of the escalator on the 1st floor of the East Building, there was a limited-time sale by cinnamon roll specialty shop “Cinnabon”

↑This year, sales started at 1:00 p.m., and lots of people were lined up to buy them〜

In Closing

“Laporte Ennichi” was packed again this year, and we hope it continues every year as a summer tradition in front of JR Ashiya Station〜!
