The pedestrian bridge on the west side of JR Ashiya Station, “Daiichi Kosenkyo,” used for crossing over the railway tracks, will reportedly be closed for removal starting around August this year〜
↑A notice about the removal posted on the bridge. Apparently, this bridge was built 97 years ago, in Taisho 15! That is a lot of history〜!!
↑The entrance to “Daiichi Kosenkyo” seen from the south side. It has a gentle slope heading east.
↑There are also stairs on the opposite, west side of the slope.

↑The north-side entrance connects to a small rotary along Ekimae-dori. The building on the left side of the photo is “Alpa Ashiya.”
↑Since it is a bridge spanning the railway tracks, trains pass underneath one after another〜
↑You can also look down at the trains from above, though through acrylic panels.
↑If you look closely, the cracks really do stand out… It is a historic bridge, but considering safety, it seems the removal cannot be helped〜
↑Some people may have often used it as a way to get from the south side of the station to Ekimae-dori on the north side. Since it will be gone in August, why not cross it while taking in the history it has carried since the Taisho era〜
