We picked up some rice balls from “Omusubi Ashiya Chaya”, which is having its grand opening today, November 1, along Ashiya Hon-dori Street!
The “Shio” and “Tamago Kake” rice balls from “Omusubi Ashiya Chaya”

Left: “Shio” 200 yen (tax included)
Right: “Tamago Kake” 350 yen (tax included)

↑ Here’s what they look like after opening the package. Both the rice and the nori are glossy and beautiful!

↑ The “Shio” rice ball lets you simply enjoy “Kinumusume” rice grown in Ono City, Hyogo Prefecture without pesticides or chemical fertilizers!

↑ It’s simply seasoned with just salt, so you can really enjoy the natural sweetness and umami of the rice.

↑ The “Tamago Kake” comes wrapped in nori.

↑ Inside is a rich, runny egg yolk! Tamago kake gohan you can eat with one hand? That’s the best!
Menu at “Omusubi Ashiya Chaya”

↑ Here’s the current menu. It sounds like they plan to add and update items going forward.
Store information for “Omusubi Ashiya Chaya”

↑ The shop is on the east side of Ashiya Hon-dori Street, to the right of “Edoyaki Unagi Sanka” when facing it! Apparently, they’re also planning to start a standing izakaya at the same location in the evening.
