Near JR Ashiya Station, the import select shop “MILANO CIRCUS” on Yamate Kansen had closed as of the end of September.

↑ It was on the first floor of a building with a brick-style exterior on the south side of Yamate Kansen. To the left, facing the building, is the kaiseki restaurant “あめ婦”; to the right is the dry cleaner “ホワイト急便”; and on the second floor of the same building is the monjayaki restaurant “芦屋 威風.”
↑ If you head this way east, you’ll find Shinnozukabashi Bridge crossing the Miyagawa River. Beyond that are Shinnozuka-cho and Midorigaoka-cho, and farther on is the Shukugawa area.
↑ If you head the opposite way west, you’ll find the natural foods shop “オーガニックバザール芦屋,” “三菱UFJ銀行 芦屋支店,” and other spots, leading out to the front of JR Ashiya Station.
↑ Across the street appears to be the model room for the “グランドメゾン” condominium.
In Closing
It’s surprising to see an import select shop that had been operating in Ashiya for 21 years suddenly close… Perhaps factors like the weak yen played a role. The Ashiya streetscape keeps changing, too.
