I went for lunch at “SpiceCurry&gelato シーズ96”, which opened on August 4 in the Ashiya Yamate Sun Mall shopping street near Hankyu Ashiyagawa Station, and tried their appetizer and two-curry combo lunch!

This is the “Watermelon Gazpacho with Basil and Bacon Espuma”. Served in a stemmed glass, it looks so stylish!
The salty, fluffy espuma and tangy gazpacho are perfect for summer!
This is the “Roasted Eggplant and Mango Vinaigrette Marinade with Charcoal Lace Tuile”. Not only does it look stylish, but it’s served in an edible bite-sized cup, making it easy to eat!
The “Corn and Potato Frittata with Chili Pepper and Nori” has a Japanese-style flavor from the nori, shredded chili pepper, and kaiware daikon sprouts.
The “Two-Curry Combo” lets you enjoy two kinds of curry! You can also order it on its own.
The “Leaf Chicken Curry” is mild with restrained heat. But the spices still come through nicely, with a refreshing flavor that spreads across the palate.
The “Coconut and Orange Curry” has a bit more heat than the Leaf Chicken, but it’s not super spicy, so it’s easy to enjoy. The fresh acidity and mellow coconut flavor work really well together.
The curry plate also comes with “meals” side dishes! This one is “Carrot and Raisin Râpée with Cardamom and Orange”.
This is the “Chickpea Spice Cassoulet Style”. It’s great that the set lets you enjoy plenty of not only curry, but also appetizers and side dishes!
