Yesterday, June 2, there was heavy rain across Japan due to the effects of a typhoon and linear rainbands, and it rained a lot in Ashiya City too.
↑ The Ashiya River had risen a lot! This photo shows the area around Nuezukabashi Bridge near Ashiya Park. The riverbed hadn’t disappeared completely, but it was still pretty scary…
↑ The Miya River had also risen quite a bit. This photo looks south from around Kurekawacho, and the upper parts of the buildings in Ashiyahama Seaside Town (Ashiyahama Danchi) are obscured by the white haze of rain.
↑ Some sidewalks were pretty waterlogged too. On Ashiyagawa Matsukaze-dori, west of Ashiya Park, large puddles had formed around the bases of the pine trees.
↑ This is the area near the mouth of the Ashiya River. The deck area in the foreground has turned into quite a large puddle.
↑ Looking north from near the coast, the rain had created such a white haze that the mountains couldn’t be seen at all.
