We picked up the signature “Fresh Rice Bread” from fresh rice bread specialty shop “KOME PANTRY”, which opened along Miyagawa Keyaki-dori on May 18!

↑ The springiness is incredible. The moment you touch it, or even just hold it while it’s still in the package, you can tell how moist and chewy it is! Maybe that’s because it’s bread made from raw rice, not rice flour?
↑ Here’s what the inside looks like. It’s apparently a plant-based and gluten-free bread made only with plant-derived ingredients, mainly from Kansai, including Hyogo-grown sake rice “Yamada Nishiki,” domestic rapeseed oil, and Onokoro Shizuku salt from Awaji Island.
↑ Even if you squish it down this much…
↑ It has so much bounce and chew that it almost springs right back to its original shape!
↑ Of course, it’s not just the feel—it’s moist and wonderfully chewy when you eat it too! The natural sweetness of the rice, gentle saltiness, and aroma of the yeast spread through your mouth, making it a bread you won’t find anywhere else.
They say it stays moist even from the day after purchase, but we ended up eating the whole thing the same day…!

↑ The shop opened on May 18 along Miyagawa Keyaki-dori, in the former location of takeout gyoza specialty shop “Keyakiya”! (“Keyakiya” has relocated to a spot right by Hanshin Fukae Station.)
↑ We visited on the afternoon of opening day, and everything except the plain “Fresh Rice Bread” had already sold out! According to the staff, there was even a line around opening time.
