Ashiya Shrine and Uchide Tenjinsha Are Offering Fee-Free “Helping Hand Exchange” for Offerings and Change

Apparently, Ashiya Shrine in Higashi-Ashiya-cho and Uchide Tenjin Shrine in Kasuga-cho are offering a “mutual-help coin exchange” service between the shrines and local businesses (shops)!

Under this initiative, coins collected as offerings at the shrines are exchanged free of charge for coins that local businesses (shops) can use as change.

It appears that the process involves adding Ashiya Shrine’s official LINE account, making a reservation by message at least three days in advance, and then exchanging the coins at the shrine.
