I had lunch at “Kitchen Cafe Narihira,” located inside the Ashiya Civic Center next to Luna Hall near JR Ashiya Station!
Kitchen Cafe Narihira’s “Today’s Set Meal A: Simmered Teriyaki Chicken”
“Today’s Set Meal A” 800 yen (tax included)
The main dish that day was “Simmered Teriyaki Chicken,” with side dishes of simmered vegetables (taro, carrot, and okra) and chawanmushi!
The teriyaki was sweet and savory, the kind that makes you want more rice! It also came with shredded cabbage and broccoli, making it a nicely balanced meal.
It’s great that you can get plenty of vegetables from the side dishes too!
The chawanmushi was warm, jiggly, and silky smooth, making it so easy to eat! The dashi flavor came through nicely too.
To celebrate the cafe’s first anniversary, meal items came with “seasonal fruit” provided by the Kobe Eastern Market for dessert!
That day’s fruit was persimmon and apple. Both were perfectly ripe!
