It looks like the Ashiya-based confectionery shop “アンリ・シャルパンティエ” has applied to have October 1 designated as “Ashiya World’s No. 1 Financier Day”, and the day has now been officially established and registered.

The reason October 1 was chosen is because it’s the day “アンリ・シャルパンティエ”’s financiers were certified by Guinness World Records™ for the seventh consecutive year as the “world’s best-selling financiers.”
It seems the day was certified and registered by the Japan Anniversary Association.

Apparently, this is the first time in the world that a confectionery product has been certified by Guinness for seven consecutive years! Pretty amazing.

As a commemorative product, the “Matcha Financier – Nishiki Financier Assortment” will be sold in Hyogo Prefecture and through the company’s official online shop!
The set includes five commemorative financiers made with rich, single-origin Uji matcha “Samidori” (100%), along with five of their classic financiers.

Also, starting November 1, reservations will open for a limited-edition assortment of financiers from confectionery shops around Ashiya City!
Ashiya has so many confectionery shops, so it’ll be exciting to see which stores are taking part!
