It looks like the 100-yen shop “Can Do” will be opening in mid-November on the 4th floor of the main building of “LAPORTE,” the shopping mall directly connected to JR Ashiya Station!
Update: It opened on November 15! ↓

It looks like there are quite a few vacant tenant spaces, but I wonder where it’ll be? Maybe all of them?
There used to be a Daiso in Mont et Mer West Wing in front of JR Ashiya Station, but it closed when the building was renovated, and there hasn’t been a 100-yen shop there since!
Once Can Do opens, it should be really convenient when you need small everyday goods!
