The gas station “Showa Shell Ashiya SS” along National Route 2, across from “Kagonoya,” was being demolished ahead of its renovation reopening.

↑ Looks like it was a pretty large gas station.

↑ It looks like it is scheduled to reopen in mid-December as Idemitsu Kosan’s new SS brand, “apollostation.”

↑ According to the construction notice sign, the intended use is “retail store (gas station),” and the construction period is from September 1 to December 20.
Here it is on the map↓
The address is 1-1 Miyazuka-cho, Ashiya City, Hyogo Prefecture.
Area around the planned “apollostation” gas station site

If you go this way (east), you’ll find “Lawson Store 100 Ashiya Miyazuka-cho,” “Ashita no Shokupan Ashiya Main Store,” Jizo Park, and more. After crossing the Miyagawa River, there are places like “Royal Host” and “Green Yard,” which opened on 9/1.

If you go the opposite way (west), you’ll find “Kobe Gyozaro Ashiya,” which opened on 8/21, “Bigot’s Ashiya Main Store,” and farther along, Narihirabashi Bridge crossing the Ashiyagawa River.

Across the street is the shabu-shabu restaurant “Kagonoya Ashiya.”
Finally
There currently seem to be five gas stations along National Route 2 in Ashiya City, including “ENEOS” and “Cosmo Oil.”
Among Idemitsu Kosan-affiliated gas stations in Ashiya City, this is the only one along Route 2. There also seems to be one each in Uchide and Higashiyama outside the Route 2 area, and those will probably switch over to “apollostation” in due course as well.
