We Asked Ashitsu Members What Deals They Found at Ikari Supermarket

The Ashi2 team went shopping at “Ikari Supermarket Ashiya”!

It’s even been called a “supermarket for the privileged class, but what is “Ikari Supermarket” really like? Do they actually sell any good deals?

So we all headed out shopping to look for “good deals” and things that made us say, “This is seriously great!

(By the way, the theme for our outfits that day was “elegant” Ashiya fashion… so, uh, how did we do…?)

What the Ashi2 Members Bought

↑ We took a commemorative photo with the items each of us thought were the most “cheap! What a bargain!”

What Shacho Bought

Genki Nuts, 348 yen (before tax). Nuts that look like bird feed and don’t seem like something you’d find at a regular supermarket. They’ve got sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, black soybeans, and more. (Shacho)

Come on, bird feed?! It’s a healthy-looking mixed nut blend! And it has no additives!

Solán de Cabras, 119 yen (before tax). Some kind of super stylish bottled water from Spain. They had a pink bottle too. (Shacho)

That blue bottle is stylish! You could probably use it as a vase after finishing the water.

A rare canned Perrier, 180 yen (before tax)

A Takashi Murakami collaboration can! It’s poppy and cute.

What Niko Bought

Himawari Kochi Milk 200ml ¥80 (before tax)
The size was so cute I couldn’t help picking it up.
It looks like those little cartons of heavy cream you often see (^o^) (Niko)

It really is cute in that small size! At 200ml, it’s just about the size of a cream carton.

The way the instructions for opening the milk are written so carefully is also super heartwarming.
Ikari has affordable milk too! (Niko)

Does that mean you press the sunflower mark and it opens nicely? How thoughtful.

Premium Granola ¥598 (before tax)
Even the box feels premium! (Niko)

The flavor is somehow elegant and premium too. (Niko)

The combination of milk and premium granola bought at Ikari Supermarket sounds like it would taste incredibly premium and luxurious!

What Yumacchi Bought

Tsukemoto Tansan ¥68 (before tax)
I was looking for “the cheapest item” and found baking soda. After buying it, I realized it was food-grade. (Yumacchi)

O-oh… baking soda…! Handy for cooking and cleaning, and just 73 yen including tax! That definitely is a bargain!

Danish Mini Cookies ¥648 (before tax)
I almost never go to supermarkets, so I don’t really know what’s unusual, but these canned cookies feel like something I’ve seen somewhere before.

The round tin is stylish and cute. I thought it had a Scandinavian-looking design, and apparently these cookies are “purveyors to the Royal Danish Court”! That’s Ikari Supermarket for you!

What Fuko Bought

“Domestic Wheat Cheese Naan Curry” 220 yen (before tax)
A naan that feels like a great deal, with domestic wheat used for the naan and cheese, anchovy, and curry inside! (Fuko)

When there are lots of elements packed in, it just starts to feel like a bargain!
