While walking around Kōkōchō, I found a pretty impressive slope behind the Catholic Ashiya Church.

It zigzags back and forth several times up a decent height, and even from a distance it looks quite striking.

When you go up it, it’s just a normal slope (with stairs on the far right), but you don’t often see a slope that keeps going this long while switching back like this.

The view looking down from the top is pretty nice too.

Once you reach the top, you arrive at the back side of the Catholic Ashiya Church.

The front side looks like this.
Maybe the slope was built for people going to the church?
I’m a little curious, but I couldn’t find any information online.
Here it is on the map↓
The address seems to be between 4 and 7 Kōkōchō, Ashiya City, Hyogo Prefecture.
