We bought the “Ashiya Bebica” baby castella cakes, which went on sale on June 6 at City Lights, a smoked food and spice cuisine bar near JR Ashiya Station!

The baby castella inside are cute too, with a branded stamp on each one!
Even after cooling, they stay fluffy and chewy, with a nice toasted aroma and a clear honey flavor.

Since they’ve only just opened, it looks like they’re currently selling only “Plain” and “Ashiya Bebitan.” The “Plain” option comes with extra pieces as an opening special!
For lunch, they offer their signature curry, roast beef bowls, mapo tofu rice bowls, and more.
For the curry, you can also choose toppings like smoked bacon, sausage, and cheese.

It’s located in Arpa Ashiya along Ekimae-dori, near JR Ashiya Station. Starting June 6, they began selling the “Ashiya Bebica” baby castella at the storefront on the right side of the photo!
Apparently, baking them over a gas flame on a copper plate makes them crispy on the outside when freshly made, and still fluffy even after they cool down.
We’re looking forward to seeing their arranged bebica varieties start up too, like “Wiener Dog” and “Smoked Cheese Dog”!
