The canelés from BIGOT, a bakery whose flagship store is located in Narihira-cho along National Route 2, will apparently be featured on TBS’s “Matsuko no Shiranai Sekai” (“The World Unknown to Matsuko”). The episode airs at 8:55 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15—that’s tonight!

“Matsuko no Shiranai Sekai” is hosted by Matsuko Deluxe, with a different guest appearing each episode to introduce Matsuko to a subject they know inside and out.
This episode’s theme is “The World of Canelés & Megaliths.” It will apparently feature segments such as “Three Beautiful Canelés,” “Bakery Canelés,” and “Canelés for Grown-Ups to Enjoy with Wine.”

BIGOT’s canelés are made to be “fragrant and crisp on the outside, moist on the inside.” The bakery is famous for its French bread, but its canelés also appear to be a popular item.
Incidentally, the Ashiya flagship store is currently open only on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. If you plan to visit after watching the show, be sure to check which days it is open.

BIGOT also recently made headlines when it became part of Hanshin Beikoku. We have a feeling the store may get crowded with customers looking for canelés after tonight’s broadcast. It’s kind of exciting to see Ashiya’s canelés gain nationwide attention!
