Ashiya City’s health promotion program, “Ashiya Health Points 2026,” will begin accepting applications today, Tuesday, September 1, at 10:00 a.m.

When is it?
Application period: Tuesday, September 1, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to Monday, September 7, at 5:30 p.m.
※Applications will close once capacity is reached.
※Please note that the application form will display “Under Preparation” and cannot be used before 10:00 a.m. today.
Health Assessment Sessions (First Term): Friday, October 16 and Saturday, October 17
Each day: 10:00–11:30 a.m. / 1:30–3:30 p.m. (Reservations required; 30-minute time slots; sessions take 30 minutes to one hour)

Health Assessment Session venue: Ashiya City Children, Family and Health Center (You may also choose a course that lets you take measurements at home.)

What does the program involve?
- Earn points by getting health checkups or participating in city events 📝
- Have your body composition, blood pressure, and muscle strength measured at a Health Assessment Session (includes a character-themed lunch tote as a souvenir) 💪
- Receive advice from fitness trainers and registered dietitians 🥗
- Earn points by working toward a personal health goal or walking 🚶
- First-time participants receive 50 “First-Time Points” 🎁
- Depending on the number of points earned, 130 participants in total will be selected by lottery to win prizes worth up to ¥8,000 🎉
- Prizes include curry and stew from Ashiya Takezono, freeze-dried miso soup, hair combs, stainless steel bottles, assorted baked sweets, and more
- All participants will receive a towel featuring an illustration of the “Kenko Morimori Exercise” 🐻

You can earn points simply by walking or setting a personal goal, so it seems very easy to get started. One participant last year reportedly said, “Walking helped me discover parts of Ashiya I never knew about.” Why not give it a try while you’re out for a stroll?
