We stopped by the chocolate specialty shop “Chocolaterie plein” on Chaya Sakura-dori and tried its limited-time Pistachio and Strawberry Shaved Ice!

Strawberry and pistachio may be a classic cake combination, but pistachio shaved ice is pretty unusual!
The nutty pistachio flavor and sweet-tart strawberries are just as perfect together in shaved ice!
Some parts inside are drizzled with condensed milk syrup, adding a lovely creamy flavor to the mix.
And underneath that, there’s even strawberry jelly and strawberry compote! The flavors keep changing as you eat, so it’s enjoyable right down to the last bite.
The glass contains warm water, not cold water, so you can enjoy your shaved ice without getting too chilly.
Chocolaterie plein’s Menu
There are three limited-time shaved ice flavors: Peach and Tea, Pistachio and Strawberry, and Hojicha and Kinako. They’re all the same price.
In addition to shaved ice, the shop also offered five kinds of chilled “frosty drinks.”
The drink menu also included these options. It looks like you can enjoy cakes sold at “patisserie plein” on the first floor in this eat-in area too.
The shop also sells chocolates, macarons, and more, all of which are available for takeout.
