We stopped by “cafe’ wish.. ASHIYA,” a café that opened in May along Hanamizuki-dori in Kurekawa-cho, for some tea〜

“Chiffon Cake” ¥700 (tax included) *Only available as part of a drink set. Cannot be ordered separately.

↑ We happened to get a freshly baked chiffon cake! The presentation is adorable too〜

↑ It’s so light and fluffy that the fork sinks right in!

↑ Paired with the cream on the side, its sweetness and texture are just perfect for teatime—pure bliss〜

↑ The tea is served in a lidded paper cup, making it a good option for takeout too〜

↑ The tea latte comes with plenty of foamed milk and is sweetened with honey. It seems like it takes extra care to make, yet it costs the same as the other teas, so it feels like great value.

The Menu at “cafe’ wish.. ASHIYA”

↑ The menu includes black tea, flavored tea, coffee made with organically grown beans, juice, sweets, sandwiches, and more. It looks like alcoholic drinks are also available after 5:00 p.m.

They also seem to be holding a “Matcha Fair” featuring Uji matcha right now〜

↑ Here’s what the muffins and scones look like.

↑ Their teas are made with leaves from the specialty tea shop “amsu tea.” Apparently, the blends are specially crafted to pair well with Japanese water〜

↑ The café is on the ground floor of a building on the east side, toward the northern end of Hanamizuki-dori. It opened in the former showroom of “PaintWall Ashiya,” an exterior painting company.

↑ Inside, there are both counter and table seats, along with power outlets for charging devices〜
