What will they be doing?
- Hands-on shelter setup experience (checking the route from opening the school gate to the gym) 🏫
- Evacuee reception experience (using evacuee cards) 📝
- Explanations and displays of equipment and supplies from disaster prevention warehouses 🔧
- Explanations and displays of earthquake-resistant water tanks that can also be used for drinking water 💧
- Emergency meal preparation experience 🍲
- CPR experience 🚑
- Initial fire extinguishing drill 🔥
- Vehicle displays by the fire department, police, Self-Defense Forces, and others 🚒
- Disaster prevention goods displays and disaster awareness corner 🧯
- Introduction to manhole toilets 🚻

Final Thoughts
There are a lot of things you won’t really know about an evacuation shelter until you actually go and see one. With disaster preparedness goods on display and an emergency meal preparation experience too, it seems like a good event for families to attend together. It might also be important to try walking to your nearby elementary school once, just in case something happens.
