I went again this year to the “Danjiri Parade” on Ashiya Hon-dori and the “Ashiya Autumn Festival” at Omasu Park and Chaya Park, held on October 12〜
A look at the “Danjiri Parade” on Ashiya Hon-dori
The “Danjiri Parade” is the climax of Ashiya’s danjiri festival, where danjiri from six districts across Ashiya gather on Ashiya Hon-dori〜!
Seeing the danjiri up close again this year was incredibly powerful!
The danjiri from each district took turns spinning around, racing at amazing speed, and showing off their performances〜
Each danjiri had its own character, and every district looked so cool!
There was even a performance where they set off party poppers from the roof!
The danjiri participants ranged widely in age, with people of all generations enjoying the festival〜
And again this year! Ashiya Mayor Ryosuke Takashima was riding on the Nakanomachi (former Seido) danjiri〜!

Then for the finale, the danjiri from all six districts gathered at the intersection and performed their grand entrance together〜! The crowd was huge, and the excitement was incredible!
A look at the “Ashiya Autumn Festival” at Omasu Park and Chaya Park
The “Ashiya Autumn Festival” is an autumn festival event held at Omasu Park and Chaya Park! This year again, there were lots of food stalls, along with a raffle, mochi pounding, and more〜
↑At Omasu Park, stalls from popular Ashiya restaurants like “Takezono,” “Ashiya Nikki,” “Torikiyo,” “Miyoshi,” and more were lined up!
↑At this tent, yakisoba from “Teppan Jubon” was being sold for 500 yen〜
↑Simple yakisoba with nice thick noodles, pork, and cabbage. This is exactly the kind I like best!
↑Being able to eat yakisoba with this kind of “restaurant-quality” flavor at a festival is just too good〜!
↑There was also the “Ryoshi Burger” from Awaji Island…
↑And lots of gourmet foods from the five regions of Hyogo, including black soybeans and chestnuts from Tamba-Sasayama〜
↑The spot where mochi pounding had been held until last year had become the event headquarters for surveys and the raffle. So where did the mochi pounding go?
↑The mochi pounding had moved from Omasu Park to the Chaya Park venue〜. There were areas for a “kids’ mochi-pounding experience” and “freshly pounded mochi giveaway (free)”!
↑This year’s Chaya Park venue was so lively it felt almost like the Expo site!? Not only the mochi pounding, but also the raffle games and festival game booths had huge lines!
↑At the raffle, it looked like people could win some really luxurious prizes, including snow crab, meat, matsutake mushrooms, fruit, rice, sweets, and more〜
The “Ashiya Autumn Festival” was packed again this year, and I hope this kind of fun event keeps going every year!
