Just west of Hanshin Ashiya Station, immediately south of Shinko Sports Gymnasium & Youth Center (Ashiya Municipal Gymnasium), the narrow tunnel that passes under the Hanshin Main Line tracks (elevated railway) will apparently be closed to traffic from today, July 22〜

↑The closure is for road improvement work, and it’s apparently scheduled to last until Tuesday, September 30.

↑The view from the north side. It’s a narrow, low tunnel surrounded by construction fencing.

↑The view from the south side. The same sign is posted on both sides.
Here it is on the map↓
Address-wise, it’s between Fukaekitamachi and Fukaehonmachi in Higashinada Ward, Kobe, and Kawanishicho and Hiratakitacho in Ashiya City, Hyogo Prefecture. (Kind of confusing〜)
Information Around the Tunnel

↑If you head this way (west) along the alley on the south side, you’ll find the Geo Hanshin Ashiya apartment building, which has the supermarket “Life Hanshin Ashiya” on the first floor.

↑If you go the other way (east), you’ll reach Hanshin Ashiya Station, the Ashiya River, Ashiya City Hall, and more.

↑Just north of the tunnel is Shinko Sports Gymnasium & Youth Center (Ashiya Municipal Gymnasium).
Finally

↑If you go a little east from the tunnel that will be closed, you can pass under the elevated tracks at Kawanishi Sakura-dori〜. If you head west, you can also go under near the front of Life, so detouring probably won’t be too much trouble. The construction will last about two and a half months, but just keep it in mind〜
