↑ A sign facing the sidewalk along the Naruo–Mikage Line reads, “A truly hidden-away café.”

↑ Viewed from behind the building (the north side), the “花街道” sign can be seen in an east-facing window on the second floor.

What’s Around “花街道” (Alcove Ashiya)

↑ The building is located near Hanshin Ashiya Station, on the north side of the Naruo–Mikage Line. The building is also home to “鶏白湯RAMEN 芦屋 焔” in the basement, as well as the karaoke bar “Canty芦屋” and baking-supply shop “ベイクベイス” on the first floor.

↑ Head this way (east), and you’ll pass places including the bar “芦屋日記” and Japanese restaurant “ふる里,” before reaching the intersection with Ashiya Hondori.

↑ Head the other way (west), and you’ll find “アンリ・シャルパンティエ芦屋本店,” Hanshin Ashiya Station, Ashiya Police Station, and Kōmitsu Bridge over the Ashiya River.

↑ Across the street is the select shop “Coquette.”
The Menu at “花街道”

↑ In addition to drinks such as coffee, café au lait, tea, and juice, the menu also seems to include ice cream and baked treats such as black soybean cake and yuzu cake. Apparently, every item on the dine-in menu is ¥330!

Final Thoughts
This art-filled café, brimming with the owner’s personal touches, certainly has us curious! Still, we can’t believe we walked past it all the time and didn’t notice it for nearly a month after it opened… It really does live up to its reputation as a truly hidden-away café!
