Yesterday, April 6, I went to the “Ashiya Sakura Festival” and the Chaya Sakura-dori pedestrian zone and lawn picnic event, “One-Day Miracle: Let the Future of Ashiya Bloom in Full!” Project〜
Scenes from the “Ashiya Sakura Festival”

↑This year, we were blessed with clear skies, and both the venue and the riverbank were packed with people!

↑At the venue, visitors could enjoy 24 festival stalls and street stage performances〜

↑The crowds and lines in front of the stalls were incredible!

↑Even from the opposite bank, you can tell how crowded it was〜

↑There were all kinds of food stalls, with festival favorites like fries, karaage fried chicken, yakisoba, candy apples, and hanami bento boxes〜

↑A street stage was set up at Matsunouchi Green Space, with live music, dance performances, and more!

↑There were also lots of people enjoying cherry blossom viewing on the riverbank outside the venue! The kids playing in the river looked like they were having a great time〜

↑Outside the venue, in front of Palais Elegance, the Italian gelato shop “che bontà” and the non-alcoholic cocktail specialty shop “MOCKTERIA” had special pop-up stalls!

↑Many other shops along the Ashiya River also had festival-only takeout stalls, bazaars, and more〜

↑It would be wonderful if we could enjoy the “Ashiya Sakura Festival” with this kind of full bloom and sunny weather every year〜!

Cherry blossoms by day. Cherry blossoms at night have a different charm too〜. Already looking forward to next year♪
Scenes from Chaya Sakura-dori’s “One-Day Miracle: Let the Future of Ashiya Bloom in Full!” Project

↑On Chaya Sakura-dori, the one-day-only pedestrian zone and lawn picnic event, “One-Day Miracle: Let the Future of Ashiya Bloom in Full!” Project, was taking place〜

↑Artificial turf was laid out on the roadway of Chaya Sakura-dori, which had become a pedestrian zone, and lots of people were enjoying picnics♪

↑Inside the venue, there were many food stalls set up by nearby shops!

↑Stylish Italian food like pizza and zeppole, too〜

↑There was even a “Grip Strength Ranking” corner!? A battle that strong-armed challengers couldn’t afford to lose〜

↑There was also a live band performance inside the venue〜a big crowd gathered and the atmosphere was lively!

↑The “Kotoba no Hanabira Project” was also held, where people wrote what they hoped Ashiya would be like in the future on petal-shaped paper and displayed them!

↑Lots of visions for “Ashiya’s future” were displayed as pink petals♪

↑This cute pink “Sakura Lemonade” was bought from the “THE BAR” stall♪ It turned into a wonderful day to fully enjoy spring〜!
Bonus: We ran into Mayor Takashima!

↑We happened to run into Ashiya Mayor Ryosuke Takashima inside the venue for the “One-Day Miracle: Let the Future of Ashiya Bloom in Full!” Project!

↑The mayor gave us this card about “Ashiya City Furusato Nozei” hometown tax donations〜

Ashiya City’s furusato nozei return gifts include sweets unique to Ashiya, as well as hearty items like beef, eel, and gyoza, plus organic pet food, stylish baskets, beauty salon gift certificates, and even hotel stay vouchers!
