2025 Ashiya Sakura Fun Run to Be Held Around Ashiya Central Park on April 13 with 3K to Half Marathon Entries Open

The “2025 Ashiya Sakura Fun Run,” a citizens’ marathon event starting from “Ashiya Central Park” in Wakaba-cho along the Rinko Line, will apparently be held on Sunday, April 13! ※Held rain or shine

Ashiya Central Park and the surrounding area (around Wakaba-cho, Midori-cho, Shiomi-cho, Takahama-cho, Hamakaze-cho, and Yoko-cho)

What will be held?

・Half marathon (ages 16 and up)
 └ Starts at 10:50 (time limit: 2 hours 30 minutes)
・10 km marathon (ages 16 and up)
 └ Starts at 10:15 (time limit: 1 hour 30 minutes)
・3 km fun run (ages 6 and up)
 └ Starts at 09:45 (time limit: 30 minutes)

It’s a citizens’ marathon where you can run through Ashiyahama in spring! It’s an event that everyone from beginners to experienced runners can enjoy.

Entry fees?

・Half marathon: 5,000 yen (6,500 yen with T-shirt)
・10 km marathon: 4,500 yen (6,000 yen with T-shirt)
・3 km fun run: 2,000 yen (3,500 yen with T-shirt)

Capacity?

・Half marathon: first 2,500 participants
・10 km marathon: first 1,500 participants
・3 km fun run: first 1,000 participants

Can anyone join?

・Anyone in good health is welcome!
・The half marathon and 10 km are for ages 16 and up, while the fun run is for ages 6 and up
・Participants under 18 need parental or guardian consent

※Wheelchair participation is available only for the 3 km event (for those who can finish within the time limit)

This is a citizens’ marathon event that draws lots of participants every year! Running along the Miyagawa River in spring sounds so refreshing! If you’ve never joined a marathon event before, this might be a good chance to start with the 3 km run.
