Along National Route 2, at a vending machine next to the post office in Shimizu-cho, I found “drinkable roasted sweet potato”, so I gave it a try〜

↑Of the four vending machines lined up to the right when facing Ashiya Shimizu Post Office…

↑It’s the “Cheerio” vending machine, second from the left.

↑On the bottom row, toward the right, there it was: “We’ve started selling yaki-imo”! It had already begun〜! But for some reason, it was being sold cold!

↑I was way too curious, so I bought one right away. It’s “Drinkable Sweets Yaki-imo Au Lait, made with roasted Anno sweet potatoes from Kagoshima Prefecture” for 130 yen tax included〜

↑The label says “Shake well before drinking.” If there’s enough sweet potato in it to settle at the bottom, expectations are high〜

↑The cap says “HOT & COLD.” It was still a little warm out, so maybe that’s why it was being sold cold〜 Once it gets colder, it might switch to hot.

↑Here’s what it looks like from the bottom. It has a gentle yellow color that really feels like sweet potato〜

↑When I opened the cap and took a sip, the sweetness hit hard right from the first mouthful! Then the flavor of Anno sweet potato followed after, giving it a cozy, comforting feel〜. The texture was surprisingly smooth and light, with no thick or sludgy feeling.
It was a drinkable dessert I’d recommend for anyone who likes strong sweetness and sweet potato flavor! I bet it would taste even sweeter served hot〜

In the past, the vending machine on the far right in this row was selling “crab hot pot broth”〜
These vending machines sometimes have interesting drinks, so I’ll keep checking them out!
