Near Hanshin Ashiya Station, along the Naruo Mikage Line, the Bean to bar chocolate specialty shop “ICHIJI” is having its relocated grand opening from Saturday, September 21, so we went to try their new menu items〜

ICHIJI’s “Freshly Baked Chocolate Gaufrette” and “Chocolate Drink”

“Freshly Baked Chocolate Gaufrette” 400 yen (tax included)

↑They bake it after you order, so it’s truly a freshly baked, piping-hot gaufrette! There probably aren’t many places where you can eat one this fresh〜

↑Between the gaufrette layers, there’s plenty of two kinds of chocolate sauce tucked inside〜! It’s also topped with cacao nibs, giving it a bitter, grown-up flavor!

“Chocolate Drink (Iced)” 720 yen (tax included)

The chocolate drink, which was sold even before the relocation, now comes in a takeout cup. The hot version is available year-round, while the iced version is apparently sold only in summer〜

↑The drink is topped with cacao nibs too! With its clean sweetness and bitterness, it has an authentic flavor and feels like a chocolate drink for adults〜

↑We fully enjoyed these chocolate sweets that aren’t just sweet, but bitter and refined for a grown-up taste! Once the weather gets cooler, it might be nice to savor them slowly at nearby Omasu Park, Koko Park, or on the benches in front of City Hall〜

↑The grand opening starts on Saturday, September 21 (the pre-opening fair has ended). In addition to freshly baked gaufrettes, financiers, and drinks, it looks like soft serve ice cream will also be available from the grand opening〜

Store Information for the Bean to bar Chocolate Specialty Shop “ICHIJI”

↑About a 5-minute walk east from Hanshin Ashiya Station, it’s a street-level shop along the Naruo Mikage Line. This used to be the location of “Titicofa,” a pastry shop that sold “Ashiya Roll” and “Tenshi no Chiffon.”

↑In addition to bean-to-bar chocolate made from cacao beans, they also sell baked sweets made generously with chocolate and cacao〜
